Ferrari 599 GTO rendering

Ferrari is about to give life to the Gran Turismo Omologato, GTO for short. These three letters carries a heavy Ferrari heritage which was first used back twenty five years ago when Ferrari produced the 288 GTO. This time, those three letters will follow a new set of numbers, the 599. Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa revealed that they will be releasing the 599 GTO soon. Here are couple of spy shots from arthomobiles.fr showing the test mule caught in Maranello.

Here’s my speculative rendering of what the 599 GTO might look like as posted in LEFTLANENEWS.com.

Based on the 599 HGTE GTB, the 599 GTO is basically a street legal version of the 599XX. There were only 20-30 599XX offered to a very special Ferrari clients. And the cost was said to be close to one million euros. So for those who desires the performance of the XX but without the hefty price tag and the legendary GTO branding, the 599 GTO is the answer. Basically like the 430 scud of the 599 GTB.

And here’s an updated version with the new set of wheels.

Ferrari used these BBS Forged Indvidual (FI) wheels on their test mules. These set are different from the ones used in the XX. But between the HGTE GTB wheels and these BBS FI wheels, I have to admit that they looked much better.

Aesthetic difference between the GTO and the GTB.

1. The GTO louvered hood have 4 vents (2 on each side) vs the 2 vents on the GTB. The 599XX have 6 vents.
2. The GTO side vents below the headlights are a little smaller than the XX but bigger than the GTB.
3. Center air intake looks like the XX without the grill. In place of it is a mesh instead.
4. The air intake on the GTO sideskirts are much larger than the one in the GTB. Much like the XX but without the Carbon fiber scoop.
5. The GTO sideskirt design is more perpendicular to the ground just like the XX but without the CF bottom piece.

6. The GTO rear bumper doesn’t have the ridge on each side of the lic. plates area like the one in the GTB. Instead it’s just a flat surface.
7. The GTO rear bumper features the side vents on each side unique to this model.
8. Bigger rear diffuser area which now goes across the full length of the rear bumper.

Suppose to be limited production.700bhp V12, 60ms transmission change, 0-60 in 3.2 sec and 217 mph top speed. Already was shown to select european clients during a private viewing. Rumored to officially be unveiled in Beijing in April.
