The facelift and the new body version are expected to drop in 2013, enough time for theItalians to adapt the model to a new platform. As many probably sensed, the facelift will bring for MiTo a new platform, borrowed from the future generation of the concern brother, Fiat Punto. With this ocasion, Alfa Romeo could change the dynamic lines of the subcompact model, intensely criticized by the specialists.
The development of the facelift on an new platform will have a good impact on the global sales. More precisely, MiTo then could be sold on the US market where the safty regulations are harsher than in Europe. The launching of MiTo on the North Americanmarket will be made with the mid-size sedan Giulietta and a future SUV.
