The P82 is the heart of the 2002 BMW-WilliamsF1 team race car. The P82 is based on the P80 engine of 2001, with many parts improvements. Over 20% of the 5,000 individual engine parts are new in the P82. All core components are developed and manufactured at BMW. This includes the cylinder head, crankcase, crankshaft, camshaft and electronic engine management system.
