Toyota is preparing Yaris-based hybrid car in France for sale in the European market.

The company recently confirmed that it would build an Auris based hybrid – which slots just below the Yaris – in the United Kingdom. The Yaris-platform hybrid would share the revised 2011 Yaris.
The Yaris hybrid will compete with Honda’s upcoming Fit hybrid. The machine will be Yaris’ upgraded four-cylinder motor. The car will come with a price tag of about 1.5 million yen (A$19,300) and will be for sale in Japan in late 2011.
The company targets to sell at least one million hybrid vehicles a year by 2012.
